I admit I am an outsider looking in for a conversation. I don’t know much about gun laws or gun culture. I know in California you need to get a concealed carry permit and there are certain criteria to get it, so it isn’t just given out. I’m wondering if you think that if everyone were allowed to carry a concealed weapon on the streets without having to go through extra steps, or getting training, etc. would this make you feel safer or less safe? If you already carry a gun for protection, do you think this would be beneficial for you or not?

For context, I have a stalker and have been getting threats for over a year now. I have been fighting for my right to be allowed to carry a weapon for my protection in public without success so far, but I do feel that having a weapon does give you a sense of power and protection.
