A rant about the general quality of most guns today

First off, I don’t hate modern firearms, I don’t think they’re all garbage, but there are some glaring issues with a lot of the modern guns. Most notably, the Ruger PC carbines and the Remington 870 Express Tactical.

First off, the Ruger PC carbines. The PC Carbine was originally a neat gun, it was a bolt-action pistol caliber carbine, but it had some real quality issues. The original model had an awful trigger and an awful barrel nut, the original model’s barrel nut was a crappy piece of plastic that was prone to coming loose. Then the PC Carbine Pro came out, which improved upon the original by improving the barrel nut and adding an adjustable trigger, however the PC Carbine Pro came in the wrong calibers. Ruger made a ton of PC Carbines in .22lr, .22mag, and .380, but very few in .9mm and even less in .40. And to top it all off, the PC Carbine Pro is a real PITA to field strip, and the barrel nut is still crappy and prone to coming loose.

Now on to the Remington 870 Express Tactical. The 870 is a classic, a true American icon. But Remington’s version of the 870, the Express Tactical, is an absolute piece of garbage. I’ve owned three of them and every single one had issues with the choke tubes. The Rem-Choke threads on the Express Tactical are awful, the threads are so shallow and poorly cut that the chokes come loose and the shot patterns are all over the place. And the Express Tactical doesn’t even come with any chokes, it comes with a “Sabertactical” choke, which is absolute garbage.

In conclusion, I don’t hate all modern firearms, but some of them are absolute garbage and the worst examples of firearms production in history.
