My father is an 80 year old lifetime democrat who has never had a negative encounter with LEO or anyone else...just a good ol' boy who plays in the woods.<br><br>However, in the state where I live, there has been an uptick in the number of MAGA teens attacking and beating up gays. My brother's son is one of the gays in this area, and my dad has applied for a concealed carry permit to protect him.<br><br>Dad was always a huge Nixon supporter, but has voted for Democrats ever since. I think this may have been the turning point for him, and it's driven him to apply for a concealed permit. Although the process is long and expensive, he is committed to protecting my brother's son and other gay kids from these bullies.
