Why do people think the richest 1% of Americans don't already have all the money they could ever possibly spend?

The top 1% of American earners by definition earn more than 13 million dollars a year, and get 22% of the total income.

Why on earth would an investment banker or hedge fund manager or tech CEO etc. who already makes well over a hundred million dollars a year risk money on a private jet or a yacht when they have enough money in the bank to never work again if they so chose?
