When I was a kid I used to steal hand sanitizer because I would put it on my hands and rub it in my armpits because I thought it would make me smell better

It was the 2000s, hand sanitizer was pretty new. It was some weird, sweet, stick that you could rub on your hands to kill germs. I remember picking it up as a kid and rubbing it on my hands, then thinking that my armpits smelled weird and rubbing some of the hand sanitizer there because it smelled really good. I put a whole bunch of it in my armpits and then spent the next day sweating and smelling like a combination of sweet alcohol and death.<br><br>My parents made me take a shower to get the smell out but it didn’t work. For the next couple years I would steal hand sanitizer from people and rub it in my armpits.<br><br>I guess it sort of worked, I stopped noticing the smell of my own body after a while. I can’t explain why I thought that rubbing my armpits with a germ killer would make me smell better. I just did.<br><br>I don’t do that anymore.
