I told my son the old guy who posts papers under his door at my condo is Santa

I posted a little bit about this on theDRDR, but it seemed like it fit better here. I’m a single mom of 2 (23m & 18f) who lives in a condo. Every year, one of the older guys in the building puts up someone else’s money to put little gifts under our doors for Christmas. The gifts aren’t much, but it’s so sweet. My son has a mental disability and cannot handle the idea of Santa not coming. I love Christmas and I loved having a kid who also loved Christmas, but my son’s personality has changed as he got older and he is now extremely anti-Christmas. One day when he was about to leave the house, he asked if we could put out cookies for Santa. I was glad to see that far off glimmer of Christmas spirit back in his eyes. He asked if Santa still came down the chimney and I hesitantly said no, but that the cookies would be for the old guy who leaves us little presents. He seemed to be okay with it. He ate the rest of the cookies and seemed fine. The next year he asked if we could put out cookies for Santa again, and I took that as an okay and told him that the old guy who brings us little presents was Santa. He was super excited to put out cookies again and seemed to have a great Christmas. I’ve told him the old guy is Santa every year since. He’s grown now and still lives at home, and he still loves Christmas. I feel so good that I was able to give him something back. It’s also helped our relationship a great deal.
