I stole a 6-pack of beer when I was 9

My dad would buy a bottle of wine from the liquor mart and bring it home. There was always leftover beer in the bottle so it wasn’t a big deal. One day when my dad wasn’t with me I wanted to buy a lottery ticket from the same liquor mart. While waiting in line, I picked up a 6 pack of beer and put it in my cart without paying. When the cashier asked if I had paid for the beer I said yes. When I got home and told my dad what happened, he laughed and said it’s on the house. I didn’t even realize I did anything wrong until I told him what happened.
