I gave a kid in my high school brain damage and my mom is in jail

I was a bit of a troublemaker in school and one day I had a thought, I thought, “What would happen if you gave a kid a piece of notebook paper and put tnt or something on it to see if it would explode and hurt anyone?” So I went down to the janitors closet and took a bunch of tnt and made a little piece of notebook paper look like it was a letter, put it on the desk of a kid and went back to class.<br><br>I came out of the class early, and the kid did not move for 45 minutes, and a teacher had to come in and drag him out, he had a seizure, and his parents took him to the hospital and he has been disabled ever since.<br><br>The police did a huge investigation and eventually got my mother and she confessed to the crime, I was 16 and I was sent to a juvenile detention facility and my mom went to jail. I did 10 years and was released on probation, I have to pay for the kids medical expenses and my mom is still in jail.<br><br>I feel like I have gotten over it and moved on with my life but it still gets me sometimes to think about what happened, I would never do anything like that again and I just wish I had thought better before acting.
