This is not a normal bug infestation in our area

From my observation as a long time Santa Monica Mountains resident, the conifer seed bugs do not have natural enemies that are targeting them in large enough numbers to eliminate them, so the logical conclusion is that these bugs are simply not native to these areas. While their behavior is not new to me, I can tell by the sheer numbers that their populations have exploded beyond their previous numbers. The infestation is so severe, it is driving people to do something they have never done before: make their windows more bug-proof. If you are one of those people, please, don't bug out. Keep bugs at bay and keep a clear view.
