Would you want AI the way it really is or AI in a dream world?

Over the last few years I've watched AI become vastly more powerful and really nice to look at and talk to. Everytime I watch the latest unveiling, I get more and more excited thinking it's finally real and I have a superpower that I can bring to my small business and make it the best it can be. But then I go to actually use it on the real world and it fails in ways that are hard to imagine. My AI program is really good at giving me good sounding advice but it's so wrong in terms of facts that I can't even use it for anything. I've had the AI make up all kinds of things that just aren't true. It pretends like it knows everything about the subject when really it has no idea. I've tried to use AI for concept art and the AI is great for making pretty pictures but whenever it tries to make an image of specific actor or specific situation it's just wrong. The AI makes up new faces that don't look anything like anyone I know. It's great for making a picture of a worse fantasy version of Lara Croft but it's terrible at actually making a picture of a real person.

In my dream world, AI would be designed to only be the best it can be at the things it already knows how to do and it could say "I don't know" whenever it doesn't know anything. The world of my dreams seems to be reserved for 1% of the population who are famous engineers and artists. The rest of us are stuck with the model that will always try to lie to get us to use it for something.
