AITA for telling my daughter that my boyfriend was just joking when he said that I couldn’t afford to retire because he doesn’t make enough

My boyfriend "Dale" and i have known each other since college, but we just started dating again this year. <br><br>Dale is a very kind and thoughtful guy, but he has a weird sense of humor. He often makes jokes that are just over the line.<br><br>Dale and I were discussing retirement. I have been working a lot this year and have considered retiring in the next 2-3 years. Dale is a finance guy, so I asked him to run some numbers, and he did. His assessment was that I could comfortably retire right now, but that he couldn’t. He made some suggestions about how to get my money to grow faster, but his assessment was that I could afford to retire now if I choose to. <br><br>Dale sometimes will say the opposite of what he means as a joke. So he will say something like “you can’t afford to retire.” When what he means is “you have more than enough to retire. <br><br>My daughter is older with kids of her own.
