OpenAI's intention

i don't think anyone is paying enough attention to the full scope of openai's intention.

There is a massive massive focus on making chatgpt an invisible personal assistant in the room. This isn't to create an invisible assistant. It's to predict and then strongly recommend a specific course of action.

you talked to your friend and then chatgpt jumps in and recommends you go in a certain direction.

you don't even need to engage with chatgpt. This is why they are adding so many ambient abilities. We are moving towards a world where chatgpt will be monitoring and then guiding our actions.

there is no agency. there is no choice.

and this is all being done under the auspice of making our lives better but it's not. it's to create a more isolated, predictable, controllable and artificial world where humans are not needed.

this isn't some wacky conspiracy. it's exactly what they are doing.
