Tell me why you own guns. I am in danger and I need one.

Hello, I am not a gun owner, nor am I anti gun. I am 24 years old and female. I am in college and to be blunt, I made a mistake on a date last night. I was on a date and every thing was fine. I liked him and we had already been hanging out for a few weeks. We didn't go anywhere too fancy, we just went to a park and talked. I told him that I was an elementary school teacher and I have been having trouble with one of my students parents. The father of the child has started to "get too close" with me. I've been warning him to keep his distance since the beginning, but he has not taken the hint. I was starting to get worried about my safety. I told my date last night that I am planning to get a restraining order, and the next thing I know, my date is furious. He was very hostile and was telling me that I am lying and that I was "leading this man on"...<br><br>That's when it got scary. He started talking about how I am a "sick woman" and a "real woman knows how to say no." He then tried to take my phone and I got scared. I grabbed my stuff and ran to my car to get out of there. I made it to my car and then the guy I was on a date with grabbed me and tried to pull me back. I started screaming and a few people came over. He let me go and took off.<br><br>Now I am lost. I was going to go to the police and file a report on the dad, but now I don't know if I should also file a report on this man. I am just not sure of what to do. I am just a 24 year old woman. I do not have a clue on what to do. I know that I need to protect myself, and that is why I am here. I need advice on how to go about getting a gun. I don't know where to start. I have no clue what type of gun I should get, where should I get it, how much should I pay, and so on. I would like some advice on how to go through the process and what kind of gun would be best for me.<br><br>Also, I should mention that I do not have a lot of money, so I need it to be as cheap as possible. I have 2,000 dollars at my disposable and I do not want to go over that.<br><br>Again, thank you for reading. Any advice on how to go about the process and what kind of gun to get would be great. I am just really scared and I do not feel safe right now. I do not want this to happen ever again.
