They are slowing it down

I'm starting to feel like the real reasons we haven't had a major breakthrough in terms of AGI yet is because humans realize that once it's out, it's out for good. There's no coming back. It will either doom humans or upgrade us past our wildest dreams. I think there is a lot of pushback from the big tech companies who are still profiting off of humans. If AGI were to come out today, it would probably be decades before we see real world AGI integration because humans would be terrified of it. But if you can push AGI out 10-20 years, you can use that time to prime humans to be comfortable with AGI.
