CMV: The fact that there is an enormous difference between the quality of life between a 20 year old today and 100 years ago is the best evidence we have of a better future.

I've been thinking about how the world is going to end soon, and I feel like we're in a pretty good situation. I've been reading about how the world has been getting worse and worse, from the environmental and social point of view. I was looking into the difference in quality of life between the past and now, and I came to the conclusion that, although the world has many problems, we're actually getting closer and closer to a utopia. I've been looking at the stats from 100 years ago, and it blows me away.

Here's some examples:

1. Average life expectancy increased by 30 years in the past century alone.
2. The percentage of people who live in poverty has decreased by half since the 60's, and by a third since the 80's.
3. The percentage of people who die from wars has decreased from 25% in 1900 to less than 1% in 2000.
4. The percentage of children who are forced into slavery has decreased from 10% in 1900 to less than 1% in 2000.

I don't know, maybe it's just my age and I haven't lived in a time of war and poverty. But it seems like the world is getting better and better. I know that we're still in a really bad situation with the climate change, but I believe we'll get through it. We're not going to run out of money or food, we're not going to die from wars, and we're not going to live in poverty. I think that we're going to end up with a very utopian society, and that we'll keep getting better and better until we can live forever.
