How would you feel if someone asked you to pay for their meal on a flight?

I feel like my flight was a scam, as I paid double the average price that other passengers paid for. I feel that I was overcharged, but I am not sure if it is normal for people to ask for free meals on a flight. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

I recently flew first class with Lufthansa, and the flight attendant gave me a glass of champagne before takeoff. As I reached for the glass, I accidentally spilled it on the person sitting next to me, who happened to be another first class passenger. The passenger was very angry, and I was devastated, feeling like I had ruined the flight experience for both of us.

I apologized profusely, but I couldn't help but notice that the passenger seemed quite irate, so I offered to buy them a drink to make it up to them. I was surprised when they asked me to pay for their entire meal, and I generously agreed, thinking that it would help make amends.

As the flight progressed, I was struck by how different my experience was from the passenger's. They had a private pod and a wider seat, while I had a short and narrow seat. Despite paying double the average price for my first class ticket, I couldn't help but feel like I was being overcharged. I started to wonder if I was being scammed or if it was normal for some passengers to have more spacious seats in first class.

I've never flown first class before, so I'm not sure what the norm is. Can anyone help me understand what happened in this situation?
