My sister has been working on getting her green card for a long time now and I've been thinking about my own future lately. I've been having a lot of trouble finding a job in my field of choice and I'm starting to feel a bit lost. I've always thought of moving abroad and now I'm really starting to think it could be a viable option for me. I want to move to a country where I can afford to live a good life, I'm thinking of Germany. I'm pretty sure I would be able to get a visa or even citizenship if I lived there for long enough.

My reasoning for this is that I'm pretty sure I can find a better job in Germany than I can in America. I can speak German, I've been there multiple times for work, and I can live a very comfortable life on a lower income than I would have to have in America. Plus, Germany is a pretty safe country, no one has to worry about being shot for no reason or living in fear of gun violence.

I know that a lot of Americans have an "America first" mentality and think that if they move to their country of origin that they will be abandoning America. But I don't think that's true. I know a lot of people in my field that are moving to Europe to work for a lot of the same companies that we would work for in America. In fact, it's much easier to work for an American company while living in Europe than it is to work for a European company living in America. I don't know why that is, but I think that it's because Americans are so paranoid and fearful about everyone else that they make it harder for people from other countries to work in America.

I just don't see a reason why someone can't just go back to their country of origin to live. Why is America always the safe haven? Is it because everyone else is "so bad"? I don't get it.
