Back stories should not be allowed in the courtroom

I think that back stories shouldn’t be allowed in the courtroom because everyone has one and it’s irrelevant. It’s the past it won’t change, using someone’s past to influence the jurors to feel sorry for the criminal is ridiculous and makes me want to pull my hair out.<br><br>EDIT: I’m talking strictly about Back stories being used to influence the jury into giving a lighter punishment. Facts from a defendants past should be allowed but only to prove a point or disprove something.
