Fundraising for the Republican National Committee (RNC), National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) and National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is strong, with most candidates running ahead of expectations compared to 2020.

The big exceptions, however, are the two candidates chosen by Donald Trump: Senate candidate Herschel Walker in Georgia and JD Vance in Ohio. Trump endorsed Walker in the primary, and now he's running about 2-1 underperforming the governor of Georgia. With Vance, Trump endorsed his campaign late in the primary and he is also underperforming the governor.

Walker has been massively out-raised financially and has a history of domestic violence, including paying for his girlfriend's abortion and threatening his ex-wife with a gun, then lying about it. He's probably going to lose, and it will be Trump's fault.

JD Vance has massively underperformed in fundraising, and polls show he's struggling with independents and moderates and conservatives who voted for Trump but also voted for the moderate Republican governor of Ohio.

The polls show Vance and Ryan running neck and neck, and Trump is making the race far closer than it should be, given most other Republicans in Ohio are winning their races by large margins.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is scrambling to raise money for Walker and Vance because Trump's endorsement has ensured that the party's normal big donors are steering clear of these candidates. Trump's endorsement did Walker and Vance no favors with voters, and now McConnell is being forced to step in to stop Trump from blowing the election.
