CMV: If the US were to make a law requiring every 15-18 year old to serve in the military for 2-3 years, it would help lower the US's national debt.

I know this might sound extreme, but hear me out. Right now, a lot of people (including myself) complain about how the US military is funded by taxpayers and yet a lot of people don't pay taxes (especially young people), which means that we the taxed have to pay even more for the military. Now, if we were to make a law where every 15-18 year old has to serve in the military for a few years, that means that they would be contributing their time to the military instead of us having to pay to hire a bunch of new recruits every year.

Also, if people are in the military for 2-3 years, they'll have more time to serve in the military and the veterans can help train the new recruits instead of having to constantly pay to train new recruits every year. This would not only help lower the national debt, but also make the military more efficient.
