My buddy and i were shooting our ARs at the range yesterday. I was shooting my Colt 6920 and he was shooting a Smith and Wesson sport.

He has been shooting guns for years, but has never carried one. He just got his concealed permit and is trying to decide on a carry gun.

So, i told him to try carrying my Glock 19. He put it in his waist band on his right side and had a mag in his left front pocket. We shot about 5 mags through each of our ARs and i noticed he was wincing in pain every time he shot my AR.

I asked him if everything was okay and he said yes. I could tell he was lying so i pushed him on it and he said the gun kept digging in to his side when he put the stock to his shoulder. I laughed at him and told him that i told him not to do that. He then asked me how the people on YouTube do it. I told him i have no clue, but i think most of them are full of shit.

He then tried shooting my AR with it on his left side and just holding the mag in his hand. Once he did that everything seemed to be fine.

Has anyone here ever carried on their right side and then put the stock to their shoulder with the gun digging in to their side?
