My dad saved me from possible abduction when I was 10.

One time when I was in the 4th grade, my elementary school had a big field day and every kid from 3rd-6th grades was out on the soccer field playing games. My dad was there helping out, and he would occasionally walk over to me, give me a kiss on the forehead and say "just making sure you're still here."

At one point, I decided to go to the restrooms behind the bleachers. It was a two stall building where the two stalls shared a sink. When I was washing my hands, a man came in and started talking to me. I didn't find it weird because I thought he was a dad. I answered his questions but didn't look at him and that's when my dad burst through the door and said "she's my daughter, does she look like she's old enough to be dating?" The man quickly left and my dad thanked me for being brave and not cowering up and hiding or trying to run away.

When we got home, I told my mom about it and she immediately called the police. They didn't find anyone but they think that my dad just saved me from being kidnapped or worse.
