CMV: The concept of "if you're going to die you should at least go out with a bang" is stupid and ignorant of how cancer affects people.

I've heard this sentiment thrown around a lot on the internet, particularly on Chambers. It seems to me that this mindset is incredibly ignorant of how cancer actually works. It seems like people think that if you get diagnosed with a terminal cancer you can "go out with a bang" and just kill yourself, rather than slowly dying from the disease. You can't just "go out with a bang" if you have cancer, it's not like you can just walk into a gas station and buy a bunch of explosives to just blow yourself up.

The whole idea that cancer patients can "just kill themselves" if they have terminal cancer is also incredibly offensive. Cancer is a disease that you can't just "choose" to die from, and you don't even have the energy or the cognitive ability to even figure out a way to kill yourself. Most people who have cancer have lost their strength and energy, and it's a very mentally taxing disease as well, so you're not exactly in the right mindset to just go out with a bang.
