CMV: Trump supporters would still support Trump even if he was convicted and sentenced to prison

I've seen many comments where Trump supporters will say "I don't support him because of [something]". But when it comes to Trump, no matter how many scandals he is involved in, no matter how much he contradicts himself, no matter how many laws he breaks, he is still their guy.<br><br>This is a different response than most Democrats, who will support whoever the Democrat is running. They may not like every aspect of the candidate, but they will still vote for them over any Republican.<br><br>This is why Trump will never face legal consequences. The Republicans know they have a solid base of voters who will never change their vote, no matter what.<br><br>This is why Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Joe Manchin are so powerful. They are in positions where they can block Republican legislation and investigations. But Republicans are afraid to do the same to Trump, because they know their base will turn on them if they do.<br><br>In order for Trump to be held accountable for his actions, Democrats need to win the House, Senate, and Presidency. The Republican Party needs to have no incentive to protect Trump. This will only happen if Republicans start to lose power. Until then, Trump will be free to do whatever he wants and his base will still support him.
