CMV: I think Trump supporters who say "I am not a Democrat" when asked for a reason for their support is gaslighting themselves and everyone else.

I have heard Trump supporters say they are not a Democrat in response to the question of "why are you voting for Trump". They then turn around and say that question is a distraction from the real issues. I have also seen them say that it is not their responsibility to support Trump, it is his responsibility.<br><br>I believe they are saying that they are not a Democrat to distance themselves from a party that they have not even investigated and decided they do not want to be a part of. It is gaslighting themselves and everyone else. If they actually investigated the Democratic party and decided they did not want to be part of it, then they can say that. Saying they are not Democrats when they have not even investigated the party is gaslighting.
