Hello everyone. I am wondering what the chamber's thoughts are on government-run universities. I have seen that in many countries, most universities are government-run. I can think of Germany, China, and Russia as examples. I am currently studying at a government-run university in Germany and I find it quite satisfying. The quality of teaching is great and it is very cheap. I pay only Eur 200 per semester to study here, and I actually get Eur 500 per month in student aid, which means I don't have to pay any tuition fees and I also get some additional money every month. My friends back in the US in contrast have to take out government loans in order to study, and they also have to pay a lot in tuition fees. I am not sure whether the same system is feasible for the US, but the situation for the average college student in the US doesn't look very pleasant at the moment.
