Most in the medical field are just regular people

And I don’t mean this in a good way.

I use to work in a hospital, but I got tired of seeing people do the bare minimum, take smoke breaks, continue to use their phones, and complain when they have to do something outside of the ordinary. People would literally complain about helping patients to the bathroom.

I had a job shadow in med school shadow me in the surgery department. I asked her if she had any questions. She responded by saying, “Yeah. Why does everyone look stressed out?” I replied, “Because everyone has problems.” She said, “No, the doctors at my school are excited about their career in medicine.” I just laughed. I think part of the problem is doctors and nurses see death, suffering, and misery all the time. The average person doesn’t really see that on a daily basis. Also, it is physically and mentally demanding. Perhaps that burden changes a person’s outlook on life. But Jesus Christ, the medical field is filled with apathetic people.
