The German education system is quite impressive. They have top of the line Universities with very little to no tuition.

1. They have 0 tuition fees for public universities (although there is a small semester fee of €50 per semester for students who are registered as Germans or EU/EEA citizens). This makes the country's higher education more accessible to everyone and, according to the German Federal Statistics Office (Statistisches Bundesamt), almost 14% of the country's population has a university degree.

2. Their universities offer free Master's programs in almost all subjects, with only a few exceptions like music or engineering. Students also receive a monthly stipend of €860 to help them get by.

3. Germany is also one of the few countries that allows foreign students to pursue a Master's degree for free.

4. Higher education in Germany is free because the German government funds it entirely, which means that universities are not required to pay tuition fees, and students are not required to pay tuition fees.

5. The country has a strong emphasis on vocational training, with 60% of students pursuing apprenticeships or vocational degrees.

6. The system has allowed Germany to adapt quickly to the COVID-19 crisis, with many young workers able to take on new roles in the pandemic's aftermath.

The US education system is in disarray, with sky high tuition fees and millions of students graduating with crippling amounts of debt. The US could greatly benefit by adopting a 4 year school with no tuition fees.

Reasons why we can't do this:

* The US has a very different economic situation than Germany, and there's no guarantee we could afford it.
* The US has a large and complex government with many competing priorities, so implementing something like this could be very difficult.

Reasons why we should do this:

* It could make higher education more accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or financial situation.

It would also allow more Americans to pursue higher education and increase our competitiveness in the global economy.

Also, Germany's system seems to be working well for them.
