I know this may be a hot take, but I honestly think that if you are pro-life, you should not be pro-choice. The term "pro life" means you want all lives to be protected, while the term "pro choice" means you want a choice to be made. These two terms are not the same thing. I would consider myself pro-choice because I believe that a woman should have the right to make her own choices about her body, but I do not think all choices should be protected.

Let me explain what I mean. Let's say a woman has a choice to have an abortion for any reason, but the reason she has chosen is because she does not want the child to grow up with a certain condition. For example, let's say she is pregnant with a child that will be born blind and deaf, or let's say the child will have a condition where the brain is constantly swelling and they will die at the age of 10. Or maybe the child will be born with a rare condition where their body does not have any skin and will constantly be bleeding, causing them immense pain. Or maybe the child will be born with a condition where they are unable to breathe, walk, speak, etc. Whatever the case, she feels like her child will be living a life of suffering, and she wants to choose to not have to go through that.

I do not think that she should be allowed to make that choice. I think she should be required to have the child because that child deserves a chance to live, and even though she believes the child would be living a life of suffering, that child still has a chance at happiness and fulfillment, and they have a right to live.

Now, let's say she is raped and has gotten pregnant as a result. I do not think that she should be allowed to make that choice. I think she should be required to have the child. That child may be unwanted, but it still deserves a chance to live. She does not have the right to choose to abort the child, because she did not choose to have the child in the first place. That child will be a product of rape, and she will have the right to give that child up for adoption, but she will not have the right to abort the child.

Now let's say she is 17 years old, and she has gotten pregnant by her boyfriend. They did not plan on having a child, but she is pregnant nonetheless. They do not have the means to take care of the child financially or emotionally. I do not think that she should be allowed to make the choice to abort the child. They will have the right to give that child up for adoption, but she will not have the right to abort the child.

Now let's say she is 50 years old, and she has gotten pregnant with no idea of how it happened. She is too old to have a child and will not be able to financially take care of the child, she will have to quit her job in order to take care of the child. Or maybe she will not be able to physically take care of the child, and will have to constantly rely on others to help her take care of it. I do not think that she should be allowed to make that choice. I think she will have the right to give that child up for adoption, but she will not have the right to abort the child.

In all of these scenarios, the woman is making the choice to abort the child for what she believes is the best reason, but I do not think that she should be allowed to make that choice. I believe the government should be able to take that right away from her, and she should be required to have the child. I believe that she will have the right to give the child up for adoption, but she will not have the right to abort the child.

So if you are pro life, I don't think you can be pro choice. I understand that many people will disagree with me on this topic.
