CMV: Democrats are coddling Trump supporters with the cliche "understanding of why they voted for him". Trump supporters should be held responsible for the actions their leader has taken.

I understand that the "we must understand" Trump voters approach is being used to soften the stance against Trump supporters so we can have an easy segue to taking back other states from "blue to red". The media and democrats are saying that Trump supporters are ignored and misunderstood. They aren't being held responsible by the media, they are being pitied and sympathized with. I don't understand why the media and democrats want to give any Trump supporters a free pass from being held accountable for electing Trump.

Edit: I didn't know how to add a TLDR so I'm putting in an update here as well.

**TLDR:** Democrats are giving Trump supporters a free pass when they should be held accountable for the actions Trump has taken while in office.

\------------------------------

So far I have been disappointed with how the media is portraying Trump supporters. They are viewed as being "misunderstood". They are being given a free pass as to why they voted for him. *Our jobs were taken by immigrants* and *we aren't being heard by Washington* are the two common *understanding* reasons why people voted for Trump. Isn't that BS? Those are not good reasons to vote for Trump. It is being used as an umbrella excuse to cover up the fact that Trump ran on and won his campaign with promises of xenophobia and bigotry. Yes, we should *understand* why some people voted for Trump. But we should also *hold every Trump supporter responsible* for electing a bigot into office and stopping a very qualified woman from being president.

Trump supporters **should not be pitied** and they **should not be given an easy pass** because they were " ignored ". Trump supporters should be held accountable for their vote. When we should be in a post-bigotry society, Trump supporters voted to take a huge step backwards. They *chose* a bigot to lead the country and that decision was made with full well knowing he was a bigot.

It should be apparent to anyone paying attention that Trump ran on a platform of capitalizing on the anger and bigotry of Americans. He didn't run on the typical platform of politics as normal presidents do. He ran on being a racist, sexist, immigrant hater and won with that platform. His supporters knew who he was when they voted for him. They knew he was a bigoted racist who hated immigrants. They voted for him anyway. Because of their vote, a woman lost her chance to be our first president. A very, very qualified woman who had decades of experience in politics. A very, very qualified woman who had dedicated her life to public service. A very, very qualified woman who was, by far, the most qualified person for the position of POTUS.

So, no, I don't think we should understand Trump voters or give them a free pass because they were ignored. What should be ignored are Trump supporters. They know they made the wrong choice. They know they voted for a bigot. They should be shunned from polite society.

Edit: Now I'm being downvoted into oblivion by Trumpsters. Please, keep upvoting. I want to see how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Edit 2: The comments are showing me that Trump followers are very sensitive to being called out for their bigotry. They know they made a mistake and they are very angry at being called out on it.
