I feel so bad that I had to watch my cats grow old and die. Why did I have to suffer this, and for what? I’ve accomplished absolutely nothing interesting with my life so far.

I have a theory, but have not found any information that supports it, so I am curious if it has been proposed or discussed by anyone else. It is that before we are born, we are asked a simple question, “Do you want to be born and experience life, which you may enjoy?” And if we answer yes, we are then shown a movie of what our life will be like, so we can change our answer if we want to. However, what they do not tell us is that it can take about 80-100 years to watch that movie.
