I’ve been on r/teachers for about a week, but have never posted anything. I’m an elementary STEM teacher and I’m really passionate about what I do. I get to see students who might struggle academically in other subjects, who might be shy, who might have a hard time sitting still, be able to shine in different ways.

I’m currently isolated at home because I had a family member test positive just before Thanksgiving. The district I work in is in a serious spike and the other STEM teacher and I have been saying we’re going to get shut down any day now. We’re just wondering what kinds of things we’re going to send to our students in order to keep them busy doing STEM? What have you done so far? How are you engaging your students with their assignments?

I know we’re all in this together, and I would appreciate any feedback you have to offer. I like the idea of having them write stories, but just writing “anything” is too vague. I’m looking for specifics.
