I'm The Guy Who Invented The McRib. I Think It's time I tell you about the drugs, and the toll they took on my life.

Some of you younger folks might not have heard of me. My name is Rene Arend, and I'm the guy who invented the McRib back in 1982. I was an executive chef for McDonald's, and the project was the largest I'd worked on for them. I've been involved in the development of other McDonald's iconic menu items(Sauce, Sauce and The Happy Meal). <br><br>In my career as a chef, I've won numerous awards, studied under the great chefs of the time, and even served royalty. But for the last 40 of my years of life, I've been a heroin addict.<br><br>Things haven't been great lately, and I've been sitting in my chair for the last week, thinking of all the ways my addiction has fucked up my life. So I thought I'd share some stories of my high points, and my low points, with all of you.<br><br>I'm going to go from the bottom up.
