No shoplifting occurred...but a good story

Hi all. I’m a store manager at a grocery store (No not Whole Foods). Was at a location last night (We only have 5 grocery stores in our city & I manage 3 of them) doing an audit when I saw a guy enter the store. He was wearing a pair of white pants, a black vest, a white shirt with some goofy looking writing on it, and a pair of boots that looked like they belonged on a country singer in the 80s. He had a red bandana tied around his hair. I looked at my district manager who was with me and said “who the hell is that.” The guy goes straight to the liquor department, opens up a bottle of wine, and starts drinking it. As soon as he does that I hit the power to the security cameras. Call the cops and give them the feed. The funniest part is he’s stupid enough to be on the phone explaining to the cops where he is. When he sees a cop walking in the door he tucks the bottle of wine under his vest and walks with the cop to the back of the store. When it was all said and done, the guy gets 2 felony’s. One for Criminal Trespass to property, and another for Criminal Damage to property. Works out to be a $15,000 bond. Love stories like this. The criminal justice system is so screwed up though. I highly doubt that he’ll do any actual prison time, but hey, we’ll see. Also, if anyone in the valley is getting a wine craving, just FYI, our red wine is pretty damn good!
