If you have a friend who’s always making jokes about being a “pedo” or “groomer” or is overly curious about what your kids look like or talk about the bodies of minors, then cut them off completely. If someone’s joking about that, there’s a good chance they’re into it in private.

I know it sounds crazy but I used to know someone who ALWAYS talked about how hot 15-17 year olds are, would make jokes about being a pedo, and eventually we found out they were grooming a kid in the neighborhood for a year. They’re now on the registry and I can’t help but feel a little responsible since we used to all hang out and I would talk about my kids. It’s not worth the risk and it’s better to be safe than sorry.
