CMV: the best way to deal with anti-maskers is to just let them catch COVID and deal with it

I have no respect for anti-maskers. I have a lot of respect for people who wear masks as a political statement (I don't agree with it, but I respect them for it). I have a lot of respect for people who wear masks out of precaution and concern, but I think anti-maskers are a danger to others, and if they're not willing to wear a mask, they should be removed by force, arrested, and fined, or otherwise punished. But that being said, I think the best way to deal with anti-maskers is to just let them catch COVID and deal with it. They're not going to change their mind about masks unless they catch the virus. You can educate them all day, they'll just ignore you. You can protest against them, they won't care. You can write to their local government, they won't listen. But if they catch the virus, they'll be like "wow, I should've just worn a mask". They'll learn their lesson that way. It's sad to say, but they might even die, and then they'll be unable to spread misinformation about the virus to other people.
