Where we drew the line.

I wasn't sure if I should do this or not. But for context, we (my wife and I) are non-smokers. Last year my mother-in-law was taken away right in front of my wife as my family is Russian, which you can imagine put a right kink in the barrel. There was a delay, and then we were allowed to go into the hospital, then there was a delay and then we weren't allowed to go in, and that continued for months until she passed yesterday due to complications from a stroke. The line that made me snap was the nurse telling us that my mother-in-law was stopped from going to the toilet (because she needed assistance) and so she was left to lie in her own shit for a few days because of the rules.

I'm a UK citizen, living in Moscow, and I'm glad to be leaving this shithole.
