To start with, this happened at one of the worst points of my life. I was homeless at 16 and working two jobs and still living in a homeless shelter.

I was exhausted one day, so I decided to skip my second job in favor of sleeping. I didn't have a phone, but I had one of those pay-as-you-go phones that had no service at all. Completely useless. So I fall asleep, and I'm awoken to a man with dark hair in a leather jacket, jeans, and black boots. I freaked the hell out, even though he was calm.

I yell and scream and I try to get away. He says that he's the security guard. I wasn't buying it. I demanded to see his ID, and he said that he didn't have any, but he left for a minute to "call" the police. Now, I live in a decent-sized city, but it's not a good city. There are no cops, we don't have any streetlights, and it's fucking shithole.

He comes back in 5 minutes, and at the time, I didn't think anything of it, but the security guard said that the cops were on their way. Now, I don't want to get in trouble, so I decide to stick it out and wait for the cops. I leave my room and head down to the front desk to wait.

I sit, and I sit, and my anxiety is going insane. This guy is telling me that the cops are on their way, and its come to be about 20 minutes now. I keep saying that I'm going back to my room. Then he says that they're on their way. He even says that he hears the sirens outside. Finally, after what felt like eons, I got up and decided to leave.

He offered to walk with me, so he could show me where they were. I walked with him, and I look outside and there's a guy waiting for me by a truck. I say fuck it, and I run off toward the library. I go in the library, and I sit in the silent corner for about 4 hours before I left to go back to the shelter. I hadn't eaten dinner, so I go to the gas station that was literally right next to the shelter.

I come in, and there's an older lady working, and she looks worried. She says that there's some guy out there, and that "he's creepy". I'm still shaken up because of the whole security guard ordeal, so I say that we should call the cops. She says that the cops don't come into our city. I tell her that there's cops here now, and she asks how I know that. I say that the security guard called them, and she immediately responds with "Oh my gosh, he's part of the problem!" Then she told me to run.

I didn't need to be told twice. I grabbed what I had, which was my carton of eggs and some milk, and I ran. I ran all the way to the gas station on the other side of the street. The guy follows me the whole way. I go into the gas station, and I yell for them to call the cops. The manager makes me wait for over an hour and a half. I was hiding in the back of the gas station, and the creep was sitting outside my whole time.

Long story short, I was finally able to have a man walk me back to the shelter, and nothing else came of it. I was terrified for the rest of my stay there, and I don't know what would have happened to me if the guy would have grabbed me. Let's not meet again.
