Why are so many people against paying the rich?

so many people seem to have a problem with paying rich people. I’m not sure how paying minimal wage would make things worse, but it seems like everyone wants to find solutions that are more complicated like AI and such to do modern jobs. no one seems to be able to answer when I asked why we can’t just pay the rich to do it.<br><br>I know this is a pretty simple question, but please explain.
