CMV: The anti vax movement is the radical left's Vietnam, its a reminder that the left can be just as stupid and prejudiced as the right.

The anti vax movement reminds me of the anti war movement of the 60s. It was fueled by distrust in authority that was well warranted at the time, and a fear of the establishment and what it was doing to people. It was also fueled by uninformed rhetoric, and ignorance of the facts and the knowledge of the day. The Vietnamese were not the serial killers that the US government was portraying them as. But they were communists who were committing atrocities, and had to be stopped. The same is true of vaccines, the anti vax movement claims that the government is using vaccines to sterilize the population, kill people, poison them. None of this is true, vaccines have been studied extensively and are empirically the safest way to prevent people from getting diseases that are even more dangerous. <br><br>Just like the anti war movement, it is full of uneducated idiots who are completely ignorant of reality and use slogans to spread their rhetoric. In reality, the anti vax movement is more deadly and destructive than the pro war movement.
