CMV: The NFL should allow players to wear ribbons or patches on their uniforms in support of various causes rather than simply kneeling or staying in the locker room during the national anthem.

I've been thinking a lot about the NFL protests and whether they are an effective way to bring awareness to important issues. I feel like the protests have largely been drowned out by the media's focus on the protests themselves, and I worry that they have alienated some fans and created a negative impression of the players.

I would much rather see the players wear ribbons or patches on their uniforms in support of their causes, which would allow them to show their support without drawing attention away from the game. This way the players can still bring attention to important issues, but do it in a way that doesn't distract from the game.
