CMV: Democrats would never get my vote even if they switched to being libertarian.

I have never been a fan of the Democratic Party. I have voted third party or written in candidates and even held the vote not to vote mentality for years. My big issue with the Democrats is that I do not think that they have any principles that they stand for. They seem to have a single goal in mind, which is to get votes and keep power. I have been told that my lack of support for the Democrats is due to not knowing their policies. If that is the case, I do not believe that it is possible to vote for the Democratic Party without also voting for policies that I do not agree with.

I have a big issue with abortion, as many of you do. I am not going to go into the details of why I have the views I do on the issue. I do not believe that the Democratic Party should ever be voted for if they have any plans to stop or restrict abortions, period. If they do, then I will vote third party or not vote. I also know that it is not the only reason I have for not voting Democratic, it is just an easy example.

The big problem with my stance is that the Democratic Party seems to be very far left. If the Democratic Party were to become more libertarian, I would have a reason to vote for them. The problem is that the Democratic Party is never going to become more libertarian, even if they win the election. They will continue to move further to the left and they will do whatever it takes to get power. They will not stop until the United States is a socialist country, and at that time the Democrats will no longer need the vote of the people. They will have full power and control of the country, and they will rule by any means necessary.

My big question is: How can a person ever vote for a party that does not have any principles they stand for and will do whatever it takes to gain power?
