How would magic change the world if 1) magic was ‘powered’ by secrets and 2) magical society (mages, magical creatures, etc.) had total secrecy down to a science?

Secrets are a powerful source of energy in this world. The more people that know a secret the less magical power it holds. The larger the secret, the more magical power it holds. Sun in the sky? Not very powerful secret. Who is Jack Ryan’s boss Walter()->Sergei? Much more powerful secret.

The ‘magical community’ is comprised of mages with magic abilities as well as magical creatures that are ‘powered’ by secrets. Mages can tap into a secret (a mage owns the secret) and magical creatures just have innate magical abilities fueled by secrets.

The secrecy of magical society is so good there are no conspiracies, no legends really, no rumors, no whistleblowers, nothing. The secrecy is so complete that no one from magical society even ‘accidently’ lets slip anything that could be considered magical society related.

The magical community, being comprised of largely immortals or very long lived individuals, tends to be very patient and playing a very long game. They see normal humans as entertaining and ‘cute’ much the way that you might see a puppy or a kitten.

How have these two factors impacted the world?
