I’ve always believed that every citizen deserves to receive a certain level of care without worrying about going broke from medical bills. This includes things like basic care at hospitals, visits with primary care physicians, and prescription drug prescriptions. While it would be ideal to get these things for free, I believe that a more feasible approach is to reduce the cost of these services and then implement a system where we all contribute to a pool where our contributions are used to pay for medical bills.

One of the most common arguments I see for why the USA should adopt universal healthcare is that every other first world country has it. The counterargument is that many of these countries have a different economy, economy and are more suitable to have universal healthcare. I agree with that.

If we adopted a system like this, I think it would be extremely difficult to implement. I think we are in the midst of a significant economic downturn and I think many people will be losing jobs and not contributing to this pool, yet they will still be in need of medical care. I don’t think the current government has a plan in place to address this issue and I think there will be a significant shortage of care for many people.

I think that a more practical approach is to reduce the cost of medical care, which is something that the government has done in the past. I believe this approach is better than adopting a system that we don’t have a clear plan for.

So CMV, what are some counterarguments for why universal healthcare is practical to implement in our economy?
