I recently posted a comment like this on r/Europe. I was asking because I recently went to Paris and I was surprised to find out how many tourist traps there were. The city itself felt very touristy, but the next time I visited it felt completely different. I found a bunch of local gems, and most people who spoke English had been to the USA before. Unlikely to find that in the United States. Which cities are very touristy and a quick list of the tourist traps for those cities?

I'm asking this because I'm American and even though I visited Europe regularly, I want to know more about it. Which cities are very touristy and do they have a lot of traps?
