Why is American food generally so bad?

I've been to other English speaking countries and noticed that the food is of far higher quality and taste in those countries. I've also noticed that American food is generally cheap to produce and is meant to be consumed quickly. I'm just wondering why American food (quick food) is so cheaply and poorly made. <br><br>Some examples: <br><br>McDonald's burgers. <br><br>Shake shacks burgers. <br><br>KFC chicken. <br><br>Those fast food pizzas.
