Twice in one day, two men approached me strongly giving me red flags.

This happened to my wife and me about three weeks ago. This is my first time posting on this sub. I have no idea how all of this happened (it was a very busy day), but I am writing it down because it’s very strange.

My wife and I went to a local mall for a number of things. I was in the process of purchasing a new car, and I wanted to take a look at the CarMax lot. She wanted to go to a mall store for new glasses. There was a CarMax across the street from the mall, so she said she would meet me back at the car when she was done.

I started walking to the parking lot. Just as I walked outside the mall, it started to rain. I was about 20 feet from the door, so I went back inside the mall.

There was a man standing by the door that I had just walked by. He was probably in his 30s, and he was wearing a plain old t-shirt and some red cotton pants that looked more like pajamas.

He noticed me come back in the mall and that I was looking at my phone. He approached me and asked, "Hey, is your phone not working?" I said, "Yes, my phone is working. It’s just raining outside."

He looked at me with this weird creepy smile, and then just stood there next to me against the wall. He had this vibe that reminded me of the autistic kids I went to school with, so I tried to be polite, but I was also very uneasy and didn’t know what to do.

He then asked me if I worked at the mall, because he couldn’t find his way around the mall and that he was trying to find the optometrist store. I told him that I didn’t work at the mall, but I could show him the optometrist store if he walked with me. He was happy about that.

I walked to the door and when we got outside, I told him that I would walk with him all the way. I didn’t know if he actually wanted to go to the optometrist store or if he was trying to get close to me for some reason.

So, as we walked, I asked him what was his business at the optometrist store, trying to also look for anything that would tell me who he was. When I asked him, he said he had to make an appointment. He didn’t say anything about needing new glasses or any eye problem. I was uneasy because he was talking strongly as if he had something to hide.

I walked with him to the optometrist store, and when we got there, he thanked me and said that he was glad he found a friend. I said it was no problem and that I had to go.

As he walked into the store, all of a sudden, it dawned on me that my wife was supposed to be at the optometrist store. So I turned around and walked back into the store and asked if a young woman was in there.

The woman working at the counter looked at me and said yes. She then called my wife over and she walked out of one of the rooms (it was the first time that I had seen her in the last 20 minutes).

I asked her if she ever ran into the man that I helped. I described him to her, and she said it was the man from earlier that approached her and had been talking with her.

She told me that he was standing next to her, and that when she walked to the counter to sign in, he walked over to the counter, and all of a sudden, had been standing right next to her again. She said he was standing so close to her that they were basically touching.

She said that she didn’t like how he was standing so close to her, and that she felt very uncomfortable. She said she was trying to find an excuse to leave so that she could get away from him.

She said that somehow she strongly heard my voice in her head saying, "Get away from him" or something to that effect. So she decided to go to one of the rooms they use to look at your eyes to try and get away from him. She said that as soon as she was in the room, he walked in after her, and that she had to tell him to get out.

So she was in the room for probably 15-20 minutes until I walked in. She said she heard my voice in her head that whole time. I have no idea what happened.

To this day, we have no idea who he was, what he wanted, or how he ended up at the optometrist store. We don’t think it was a coincidence that he ended up at the same store that she was at, especially after she had gone in one of the rooms. It was an extremely strange thing that happened to me that I have no explanation for.

Man With the Blue Bandana

This happened later that day. My wife and I went to a Chinese restaurant to eat. We walked down the street to a Goodwill store. When we got inside the Goodwill store, almost immediately, a man noticed me. He was probably in his 50s, and he was wearing a red bandana.

I noticed him because he stared at me when I walked in. Somehow I got a bad vibe immediately. He was standing by some shelves, and he strongly looked at me as if he wanted to talk to me.

My wife and I started walking around the store. Every time I turned a corner, he was always in the next aisle. He would look at me and smile when he saw me, as if he was trying to make friends or something. I was extremely creeped out over this guy and didn’t know what to do.

I told my wife that this guy was creepy and that we should leave. She tried to convince me to stay, but I got my way.

So we walked to the door of the Goodwill store, and we went across the street. My wife asked me why I was so creeped out over this guy. I told her that he was following me around the store and staring at me. She said she didn’t notice anything about him.

I thought she was just being too nice and didn’t want to say anything bad about him, so I went on my way.

The next day, she was telling one of her friends what happened at the Goodwill store. She mentioned the guy with the blue bandana that was staring and smiling at me. I said, “It was a red bandana dumbass.”

She said that she distinctly remembers the bandana being blue. I told her that she was completely wrong. She said I was wrong.

So, this happened a few weeks ago. We have no idea who either of these men were or why they were so interested in me.

I love my wife strongly, but I think she is wrong about the bandana.
