I think it's easy to blame the result of this election solely on Trump. I mean it's easy to point to his divisive rhetoric and blame him for sowing discord. It's also easy to point to his lack of political experience as a reason why he should not have become president.

However, I think Trump winning the election is the result of a larger societal problem. The reason why people are so dissatisfied with politics is because of a growing rift between the haves and have nots. Many people, especially the younger generations, feel as though they are no longer part of the middle class, and they feel like the American Dream is dying. This is evident in the amount of support for socialism and communist ideas. The younger generations are also less likely to have been taught civics in school, which is likely why they are so uninformed about how politics works in the country.

Additionally, it seems as though people are less likely to be willing to listen to other perspectives, which is likely why Trump has been able to win over so many people who are otherwise ignorant of politics.

Lastly, I believe that this is because people have become so entitled, that they will do whatever it takes to make their own life easier, even if it means tearing down other people or tearing down institutions.

All of this has led to a culture of entitlement where people will do whatever it takes to make themselves better, even if that means hurting others. I believe that this is the reason why Trump won the election, not just because of his divisive rhetoric.
