I was supposedly followed by a man using the same car as me...

This happened a few years ago, when I was in High school. One night, while I was walking home with my brother, I was warned by a school mate who was driving down the street that a man had been following me home and was using a car with the same make and model as mine. I was too scared to look back, but when I got home I took my phone and peeked through the window to see if I could see said car. The car was parked 2 houses down from mine with the lights on. The same color and make as mine. I repeated the same process for 20 minutes, and there was no movement from the car. I was certain I was being stalked. I was scared as hell. I thought someone had copied my license plate number, stolen my car, and the man in the car was my future killer. I called my father, to see if he could make it home safe and check. When he came home with his brother, they said the car was gone and there was no one suspicious hanging around for miles, but the street was empty. The same friend that warned me also followed them home and stayed until midnight, when the street started getting busier. Nothing came out of this and no one was seen or reported for months to come, but I could never forget the feeling of being so scared I could nearly feel the blood leaving my veins.
