Why do some people (females and males) have such bad taste?

I've noticed that most people have very bad taste, even when it comes to simple things like fashion, music and movies. There are a lot of women that find Channing Tatum or Chris Hemsworth hot, and most of the men I see walking the streets are extremely underdressed and don't understand the concept of proportions. Why are most people like this?
